When I saw this gorgeous recipe over on thekitchn.com website I KNEW I had to share. I love love love cake and an easy chocolate sheet cake made to share and take on picnics ticks all of the right boxes!
I have so many memories of different styles of sheet cakes with my kids. It’s a regular thing for me to whip up a quick cake and pack the children up and go to a park with the cake for snacking on. The kids can get all sugared up from the cake while mama relaxes with a thermos of coffee and watches them have fun. It’s lovely to get out and the memories of the day lasts for many years to come.
My 19 year old son still loves to talk about our picnic days when he was a little one and I’m sure it will be a tradition that he will pass along when he has his own children in the future.
